The event wil take place at the Paris Hilton on 26 october 2010
The world´s largest broadband event " the Broadband World Forum 2010 " has today unveiled that an invitation–only Executive Institute Leadership Summit will discuss opportunities and challenges presented by next generation broadband and content delivery.
The summit, which will include keynote addresses from many of the world´s leading broadband experts, is taking place at the Paris Hilton La Defence on the first day of the Broadband World Forum 2010, on 26 October.
Chairing the Executive Institute Leadership Summit is president of 21CN, global networks and computing infrastructure at BT, George Nazi. He said: "BT is proud to host the Executive Institute Leadership Summit. This year´s core debate "´ the advent of next generation broadband – has major strategic significance for the telecoms industry, and is fundamental to building a better society. It lies at the heart of long term sustainable economic reform around the world.
"Hosting the Summit allows BT to add further value to this exchange by bringing together the key stakeholders in enabling the future of broadband. We´ve crafted a programme that covers what we and the industry see as the most significant issues to be addressed in the market."
During the afternoon there will be two keynotes from Reinald Krueger, head of unit in the Information Society and media directorate–general of the European Commission, and David Storrie, CEO, Nucleus Connect, about the implementation and social and economical imperatives of Next Generation Broadband.
Gavin Whitechurch, director of Broadband World Forum, commented: "We are glad that BT chose to put opportunities and challenges presented by Next Generation Broadband and Content Delivery as the main focus of this year´s summit. It is our main goal to facilitate advances in the industry through debate, and open forum, and we hope that attending executives find it an enlightening discussion."
Following the keynote addresses there will be three sessions, firstly from a content provider perspective looking at protecting intellectual property in digital content, commercial music and film content, differentiating between commercial and non commercial digital content, and delivering content cost effectively at quality.
The second session will be a discussion from the technologists perspective looking at the challenge of implementing high speed access "´ fibre and copper, IP Offload, and reducing cost to expand availability.
And during the third session, an executive panel will host a discussion from the business and commercial angle, looking at the business case for next generation broadband, the rising costs and flat revenues, potential new business models, and avoiding the digital divide.
Executives who register for the Summit will also have access to a variety of benefits across the three days of the show, including "Off the record" briefings and workshops, and executive only meeting and networking areas.
